Empty a file without deleting the file.

Hi,

In a JOb step I need to delete the content of a dataset but I don't want to delete the dataset itself. How is it possible to do? Can IDCAMS or IEFBR14 do this? Please help.

Re: Utility for jem/jscan in batch.

At this time there were couple of JCLs but it can be a repetitive thing for me. So can we do it in a better way rather than just copy/paste?

I think, yes? A Moderator might help us to understand it better.

Re: Call JCL from a rexx?

I might be hijacking this thread but why it's a a stupid design. I've seen many REXX doing this... :?

Re: Ambiguous host variable.

Pandora-Box is correct. You've to use the "..OF 01-group-level" to distinguish the similar variable names.

Utility for jem/jscan in batch.

Hello,

Is there any way using which we can run the JEM (or JSCAN) on a PDS which is having couple of JCL's in it. I need to extract all the error messages into a PDS along with the job name. Any pointers in this regard are appreciated.

Thanks.
