Re: Difference between sysplex and lpar?

What's the benefit of doing this? is not it that Mainframes were built for reliability and speed and if that is what z/VM takes away then what's the benefit of doing it? I mean when it's all virtualized and not works on real hardware, then how stability is maintained?

Re: Difference between sysplex and lpar?

Hello. LPARs are basically to do with partitioning a machine. It allows you to run multiple operating systems on the same physical box. It is essentially z/VM in microcode. You can partition up the machine for the operating systems you are running and specify which resources you want to dedicate to...

Re: Mainframe as a career.

Mainframe is a very slow career in India. At least I have that experience. Many I know working in start-ups and cloud-computing gets much better package than us in Mainframes. Though some of the recent blogs and news says mainframes are coming back and will be good career.

Re: Difference between inrec and outrec.

Thanks for the details Anuj, but what's the benefit of having two arguments. I think INREC and OUTREC can be used for each other?

tool to automate Unit test scripts on mainframes

Hi,

Does anyone know what tool can be used to automate Unit test scripts considering the fact that we usually take many screenshots while unit testing the code as we normally do it using a debugging tool like xpeditor.
