How does IGYCRCTL get called?
Hi,
The question was how does IGYCRCTL get called and where it is installed?
My answer was that it is defined at system level and called from system libraries. Is this correct, to this interviewer did not answer anything.

Sorry if it was not obvious. But I am still not able to figure out it, that's a migration guide. I am looking for like "application level changes"... will look more for it.

Re: zOS 1.13 to zos 2.1 changes for programmers.
IBM is careful to ensure backwards compatibility -- what works for COBOL and applications on z/OS 1.13 will continue to work on 2.1 (and usually further on). There often is an upgrade to the newer version of COBOL included with an operating system upgrade, but that does not always occur -- it is pr...

Re: zOS 1.13 to zos 2.1 changes for programmers.
I do not see how a COBOL only programmer would be concerned by system changes in a well managed organization they should be screened on the system details I used COBOL programming as an example. As an application developer we'll be using JCLs and other tools so was interested in them. Like in zOS 2...

Hi, Could someone please help me in getting the zOS 1.13 to zos 2.1 changes for COBOL programmers or application developers? I have made searches online and all the links talking about system level changes, like this search: https://www.google.co.in/search?client=ms-android-samsung&source=androi...

Re: Does IMS support Web services?
Thanks Enrico. In one of the meetings a question was raised why IMS DC is not used in our system? Actually we use IMS as database while the online system is CICS. One of the senior said that there is a possibility that they wanted to use Web-services when they took decision long back to use online s...

There’s so many failures on the way...
There’s so many failures on the way to finally making it. But the thing is it depends on how you look at failure. It’s really just a lesson learned. Failure is not the end of the line. It’s more like, ‘Great! Okay, well we won’t do that again.’

Skip and continuew reading in COBOL.
Is there a way to skip records in COBOL? I need to read an input file and validate it. While validating input records, I need to see if there are any invalid records, if yes, I have to skip processing for that records and process next records. If I continue to read the next record will it break the ...

HI,
Is there any way, basically some automated short-ciut, using which we can capture the mainframe screens as screen shots and store them somewhere on the system to be used later.

Get CPU time using REXX.
Hi I am trying to create a small REXX which can calculate or pick the CPU time for a Job. To do this when I look at the job log of a Job, it shows like this: IEF403I JOBAAA11 - STARTED - TIME=10.09.53 * * IEF404I JOBAAA11 - ENDED - TIME=10.12.18 While for the same job, in JESYSMSG the results are li...
