Re: Interview process in India and abroad.

I have been working as Technical Manager but can work as a programmer too. But the position was for sen...

File trimeed while transferring from mainframe to unix.

Hi Guys,

I am transmitting a file from mainframe to unix server of fixed byte length. But when I checked mainframe file it contains spaces but when it reaches unix it's trimmed. Does anyone know how this can be resolved?

Re: Trigger a job based on more than one file.

Or, if the datasets are created by jobs within the same "machine" then have your job have predecessors of the job(s) that creates the 3 datasets. Two of them created on the same mainframe and one comes from the other team, not on the same machine. And in future all the files will come fro...

Re: Hyperlink type entry on mainframe for sare drive.

Thanks Robert. Can you please direct to some IBM manual for this to study in detail.

I will have to touch base with Support as I am not sure if z/OS runs Distributed File Service or not.

Hyperlink type entry on mainframe for sare drive.

Hi,

One of our client has aksed us if there is a way to code a 'hyperlink' type entry on the mainframe to be able to click to a share drive or server? I don't think it is possible but trying to find out the alternate ways, just in case they exist. Can someone of you please advise on this?

Re: Trigger a job based on more than one file.

Thanks for the reply Blackthorn. We have CA-7 but I think I can use the logic in that too.

But what do you mean by this sentence:
You cannot wait until all three datasets have been closed before the application is triggered.
What do you mean by "close"?

I want to put a condition that the job should get triggered when all the three datasets are available. If only one or two datasets are available then the job s...
