Re: SRCHFOR to list members where 'search string' is not found.
I think you cannot do this. You can only search for the string you supply in the search argument. the ibm manual disagree 8-) something like ****** ***************************** Top of Data ****************************** 000003 //ISR EXEC PGM=ISRSUPC, 000004 // PARM=(SRCHCMP,'LNFMTO') 000005 //NEWD...

Re: Do we really require SORTWORK files in a SORT JCL?
the use of explicit SORTWK allocation in jcl depends on the standards in use for <normal>/<everyday> sorts Your support has certainly configured dfsort with the proper dymamic allocation parameters for these things ALWAYS refer to Your storage support group , they know how the system was set-up

Re: HAPPY 57th BIRTHDAY MAINFRAME!
small/big is irrelevant, what counts is the numbers of circuits on it s/360 still had centrall memory of ferrite, ( 8KB would be the size of a shoe box ) and when one of the little rings stopped working the CE/FE would use a tool like a knitting needle to thread the three/four wires used to address ...

Re: Can static call be changed into dynamic call while at runtime.

Re: Can static call be changed into dynamic call while at runtime.
So if a sub-program is changed, are we to compile all the main programs calling it? Whether or not the change in sub-program affects the main program? it would be wiser to reach an agreement on the terminology ... if a dependency ( sub-program ) is changed the main-programs depending on it must be ...
