Production support is usually more demanding than testing.

Production support is involved with real IT business directly while testing is mostly involved with what is about to become the real IT business.

Production support typically involves ensuring the job scheduler is updated with changes to production jobs, ensuring predecessor and successor jobs are set up correctly, and looking into production ABENDs to determine (if possible) whether a job change can fix the issue (such as for a space ABEND) or if the application support on-call needs to be contacted.

Question on Production Support.

Hi,

I've been asked if I can go to production support - I'm currently in testing. I'm not sure what are the responsibilities there, in general. Can you help please.

I asked around but it looks like a limited knowledge.
